Cool math games for kids are a fun way to make learning the sometimes dreaded math subject into actual fun! I see it this way, some kids are picky eaters and when that happens you need to get creative to sneak healthy stuff into their foods like blending pureed squash into their mac and cheese.Well, by playing these cool math games for kids, you're sort of blending in the 'work' that math can sometimes be, with the fun that games always are! Admit it, it's a win, win.
Addition games are the next step after kids learn their numbers. Helping children grasp the basics of mathematics through addition games makes things much easier to learn. The 'Family Tree' addition game even offers an opportunity to simultaneously teach children about their own family history! Too cool...
First comes addition, then comes subtraction, then comes smaller numbers in a baby basket! O.K, that was lame, I know, but if you got the joke it was also a little bit funny, wasn't it? (I'm just going to hope for a 'yes'.) Anyway, subtraction games, like addition games or any other of these cool math games for kids make math way more fun than just asking b-o-r-i-n-g math questions!
So if addition and subtraction are the bare bone math basics, multiplication is really where things start to get tricky. I remember my teacher Mrs. Sanders eyes seeming to bug out when I didn't know the answer to a question in class. Not a cool way to inspire a kid to learn. SO, instead of putting kids on the spot with direct questions, simultaneously test and teach them by turning math into a game!
Ah, classic division, the opposite of multiplication. As most of the other educational games on this site, these games serve double educational duty. For example, not only to kids learn about division through these games but they learn about organization and sharing too, which are important abilities for both now and later in life!
Math is used for many things in life, wouldn't you agree? I mean there's construction, sewing, architecture, cooking, and then of course, handling money. Teaching kids about money from an early age I believe is oh so soo important !! It's not everyday that you have to figure out the value of 'X' but everyday you do need to know how to handle your money or you are down the financial drain hole faster than water in a well! Playing math games with kids not only reinforce their basic math skills but also teach them responsible spending and budgeting!
